Viewed from above, the waters of Xiaoqikong look less like water, and more like a huge, sleek glass emerald nestled in the mountains of southern Guizhou. As a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and a national 5A attraction, it features over 92% forest coverage. Boasting lush landscapes and pristine waters with a mild, cool climate year-round, this natural sanctuary is famed as the“Emerald of the Earth”.

A small boat slips in from the corner of this mirror, gently breaking the stillness. The frozen blue-green begins to flow. As the oar lifts and dips, a million sparks of light flicker across the rippling water. The boat moves, its shadow follows, painting a scene of pure serenity.

From a bird's-eye view, Xiaoqikong reveals the pure essence of nature. Set against green mountains and mirrored waters, the boat and its rider serve as the finishing, iconic touch to this breathtaking natural painting.
